7. Homework
Students will have Language Arts and/or Social Studies homework assigned on M/T/W/Th. Classroom learning will be centered around the Common Core State Standards. Students will be given advance notice of tests and quizzes but they generally occur on Thursday’s and Friday’s. Social Studies map work will be assigned on occasion, and it is the expectation that it will be done neatly and accurately.
8. Birthdays
Though we recognize (and encourage) students to have their birthdays acknowledged by their peers, birthday celebrations that include treats and cake in the classroom are not conducive to the middle school environment and are not encouraged.
VERY IMPORTANT:
Parents and students may elect to receive my Daily Homework E-mail Notice by sending me an email at [email protected] . Homework assignments, along with other MMS and classroom news, reminders, and information will be sent each day. This is a great opportunity to stay in daily communication with me as well as me with you. Looking forward to a GREAT year!!
